As Chris posted last week the Wolfe family headed to AL's state capital for our anniversary weekend. Chris had lived there for a little while coaching and teaching after graduating from Auburn so it was any easy trip for us. I have to give props to my sweet husband for even suggesting a Shakespeare play to begin with, b/c its usually not at top of the list on what interests a guy, but it ended up being a really good play. Attached is a picture of us w/ Shakespeare to remember the day. As Chris mentioned we also had dinner at a wonderful restaurant, although we joked while being there b/c we had to eat at 5:30 in order to make it to the play at 7:30 so we easily could have got in on the senior discount;) While we were in Montgomery we were able to go to the Church of the Highlands Montgomery campus and they were taking Mother's Day family pics so we were able to get our 1st "church" family pic!

Last Saturday Chris completed his 2nd year of ministry school and the church gave them a nice graduation ceremony. As you know, Chris, never wants attention drawn to himself, but I have to brag on all on his hard work. Working full time, getting married, starting a family and doing ministry school at night and on the weekends is not easy to pull off, but with his hard work and God's strength, he did it and I'm so proud of him! There were 3 speakers at the graduation ceremony and one of them emphasized how important it is for these graduates to not concentrate so much on "what do I do now?", but keep seeking God's heart and seize each opportunity to serve Him that comes before you. It was such confirmation for both of us that God's got the next step of our future and He just asks us to love Him and be obedient. Attached is a pic from the graduation.


Tomorrow I go for my 36 week check-up. At our last visit, Baby Wolfe had moved from head down to tranverse or sideways. The doctor said that if it still wasn't head down at this visit they'd do an ultrasound to see it's exact position. Of course if it's not head down that means there is a potential for a C-section. Thankfully the baby has been moving ALOT and Chris and I are praying that it'll be head down when the time for it's arrival is here. I love seeing that the graphic at the top of our blog has me just a few steps from the house.. YAY!! 3 weeks, 2 days and counting.. AHHH!!

Lastly several people have asked for me to post pics of our nursery. I haven't yet b/c the decor and stuff haven't been completed and we won't get the crib until Baby Wolfe is born and my Dad brings the hand-made crib at that time. However, we do have a few things done. For Christmas, my mom gave Baby Wolfe a huge stuffed tiger w/ Auburn and LSU ribbon tied on it. For fun, Chris will move the tiger to different spots in the room ever few days. One time it was in the cradle and then you'll see the other 2 spots in the pics. I'm always surprised of where the tiger will be!

Anniversary

Carrie and I had a great time for our 1st Anniversary. We went to Montgomery for the weekend. We got a package deal through the Alabama Shakespeare Festival for hotel, dinner, and a play. Dinner was very nice at La Jolla. We both enjoyed very well-prepared steaks. The play we saw was Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." We both very much enjoyed it. While at times it was difficult to follow the language, it was a very funny play.

It was definitely a treat to get away for the weekend.

On April 9th my sweet college girlfriends hosted a shower for me in Jackson, MS. It was SO GREAT to see and visit with them again. It had been a few years since I had seen some of them, so it was an incredible treat. Chris was the only male species in attendance, but he was such a trooper. I have such an incredible husband!

Last Thursday we had our 32 week check-up. The swelling in my lower extremeties has definitely arrived and at the end of my work day it's quite unattractive to say the least, but the doctor assured me that it was 100% normal and to just keep watching my salt, drinking my water and elevating my feet as much as I can, which unfortunately is nearly impossible at work. Baby Wolfe is measuring well and the baby is still positioned head down and should stay that way. I can definitely tell it's moved in that direction especially when it decides to stretch its arms out in the lower region:) I'm usually making a bathroom stop pretty quickly after that. Ha! Yesterday morning I experienced the baby having hiccups for the 1st time. That was a pretty unique feeling, made it even more real to me that it will be here soon. We go back to the doctor next Friday for our 34 week check up.

This past weekend we headed to Troy to celebrate Easter with Chris's family. It was a nice and relaxing time and we got to visit with Maw-Maw Thompson who is turning 88 this week. We also got to play with our 2 1/2 year old niece, Penelope. She's really growing into a little girl and absolutely loves Mattie Lou. Penelope was sad when we had to head back to Birmingham and Mattie was completely depressed for a full 24 hours. I hope that's a good sign that she'll become fast pals with Baby Wolfe.

On Sunday after coming home from Troy we were able to officially move things into the nursery since the painting was complete. It felt really good to start setting things up and get some order back to our home. Now I just have to stop long enough to get a few pictures and decor up on the wall and it'll really start looking like a nursery. Over the last 2 weeks we've attended 2 baby classes and we have one more on May 14th. The countdown has begun and everything is really coming together. We're so excited and can't wait for God's little blessing to arrive! Included are pics from our recent events. Enjoy!

Busy

It's amazing how life can get so busy. I'm grateful for the many things going on in our lives right now, but it sure would be nice to get the occasional breather.... Thankfully we have our anniversary coming up and we are getting out of town for the weekend. It will be a very welcome vacation.

This morning I had my 30 week check-up, and all is going really well. The baby had a strong heartbeat at 150. I got my second Rhogam shot since my blood type is A negative and Chris is O positive. My belly is measuring right on target for 30 weeks and this morning Baby Wolfe's head was positioned down. Dr. Ross said that when I return for my next appointment at 32 weeks if the baby's head is still down it should stay there until it's time for delivery! It's so crazy to think we're getting that close.. AHH!! We're so excited, though. In some ways I feel like I've been pregnant for over a year and then when I think about holding the baby in my arms in 10 weeks it seems like the time has flown by. Sleeping comfortably and sitting for an extended amount of time is getting more challenging these days, but I'm still able to exercise regularly which always makes me feel better. Our specific prayer requests for now are continued health for me and the baby and a safe and speedy delivery! On Saturday, my close B'ham friends and I had the great joy of celebrating the marriage of our friends Anne-Michelle and James. Anne-Michelle's family is originally from Louisiana too, near Opelousas, so the reception menu had a little cajun flair to it, which was delicious. The day was ABSOLUTELY beautiful and a true blessing from the Lord, with the cold front and rain that had hung around all last week. She was a gorgeous bride and we are so happy for them! This weekend my incredible friends blessed me with a wonderful baby shower here in Birmingham, and my mom, Chris's mom and Chris's sister were able to travel up to attend. It was so nice to have good friends and family all in one place. The hostesses really outdid themselves with delicious food and even a fun diaper cake for the centerpiece. Baby Wolfe is well on it's way to being fully supplied with all the necessities. Chris's favorite thing we received was our Chicco infant car seat. Last night after dinner, he gave me a tutorial on how to correctly lock the base into the car and then the seat into the base. We did it in his car and then in my car. Mattie Lou was completely bored by this adventure and fell asleep on the couch, ha ha! But I have to give a shout out to my awesome husband who is always so faithful in taking care of our family. I love you, Babe! Thanks to the hard work of my dad and Chris the nursery is actually looking like a nursery this week. We added wainscot and a chairrail to the bottom half of the wall that will be painted a cream to match the baseboard, while a light yellow color added to the top portion of the wall. When the room is finished I'll be sure to post a picture. Lastly, I finally got the results of my blood work for my glucose test, yesterday, and I am pleased to announce that I PASSED with a 100!!!! Thank you Lord for answering our prayers. Above are a few pics from the shower that some friends took. One of the hostesses' Ande, had mack-daddy professional camera, so I'm sure when I get those photos from her I'll have to post a few more:) 11 weeks and counting!

28 weeks 2 days and counting!

This week starts my 7th month and yesterday we had our 28 week check up. We are ecstatic to report that there was NO EVIDENCE of the hematoma along the placenta/uterinal wall! The spot that had previously caused the bleeding has completely resolved. Yay! Praise the Lord, such an answer to prayer. Thank you all so much for standing in agreement with Chris and I and believing for a miracle. God is so faithful.

On the sonogram we were able to see the baby pucker its lips, and make a sucking motion. We saw it yawn again and were also able to see where the eyelids had formed, which is cool, because the baby should be starting to blink any day now. It pretty much stayed in the fetal position with it's arms up by it's face and knees pulled up close. The sonogram nurse also pointed out to us that the back of the baby's head is filling up with hair. Yay, for Papa Wolfe passing on those good genes:) The baby is weighing in at 2lbs 11oz, so very healthy.

My glucose finger prick test came back higher than normal so they had to draw some blood and I get those results on Wednesday. If that comes back still high, then I'll have to do the 3 hour glucose test. We're praying for good results with these tests and no evidence of gestational diabetes, in Jesus name. I was pretty taken aback when I tested high, because pre-pregnancy I was always borderline HYPOglycemic, waking up some nights with the shakes because my blood sugar had bombed. So, go figure, I guess the Lord likes to keep us on our toes:)
