This is a picture of this blog's namesake, Mattie Lou Wolfe. Mattie meet the world, World meet Mattie Lou.... This was about a year and a half ago when Carrie got her. She was about 5 months old at the time. She will be turning two next month. Mattie, or "Marty" as Penelope calls her, is a cutie. We love having her around and we think that she is going to do really well with the baby. We have had a couple friends bring their children over to the house and she has been really sweet with them. She probably will struggle a little bit with the lack of attention that she gets once the baby arrives but we'll work through it. :)

Chris and I have been going to 6am prayer at church the last two weeks and because of that we've been getting up in the 430-445am range. Like clockwork, Mattie Lou, has decided that her internal clock is ready to awaken at 4am. Sometimes we cave and let her get in the bed with us and other times we discipline her and tell her to get back in her chair & go to sleep. Chris mentioned this morning that if we stay strong the next few mornings and make Mattie go back to sleep she'll learn and won't try to wake us up anymore. However, I'm wondering if this is the Lord's humorous way of slowly getting us used to a baby waking us up in the middle of the night. Uhmmm... What I do know is when those late night/early morning feedings do begin, Mattie Lou will be THE BEST company around:)
